PEP WEB Current and PEP WEB Archive

The PEP PsychoanalyticLiteratureSearch (which is FREE to use) searches the full text of the latest PEP Archive AND the Current volumes of the journals which are in the archive.

The PEP WEB ARCHIVE is the PEP Archive 1 version 6 (1886-2003). It spans a period of 120 years and contains books and journal articles.

  • The book archive includes the full text of the Standard Edition of the Complete Psychological Works of Sigmund Freud, Freud's letters to his major collaborators and the full text of the major works by Wilfred Bion, Melanie Klein and Donald Winnicott along with other major psychoanalytic authors.
  • The journals archive presently includes the full text of eighteen premier English-language journals in psychoanalysis. Altogether, there are over 50,000 articles (with over Seventy million words) and 4,000 figures and illustrations that originally resided on more than 400 volumes with a total of 250,000 printed pages.

The PEP WEB ARCHIVE stays about three years behind current journal volumes - Archive 6 includes material until the end of 2003. Volumes from 2004 onwards, therefore, are not included. To access the FULL TEXT of the Archive you need an Archive subscription. Click here for more information.

PEP WEB CURRENT comprises the FULL TEXT of the Current Contents of the Journals in the PEP Archive – in other words volumes from 2004 to the present, which are included issue by issue as they are published. Although the PEP PsychoanalyticLiteratureSearch examines the full text of current volumes, to read the full text of current journal volumes you need to have access to a paper copy or to have rights to view the Journal online where the Journal is hosted or to have a current subscription to PEP WEB CURRENT .
