Starting the PEP CD-ROM
in Windows


Note: PEP Archive 1 Version 3 only supports PowerPC based Mac, Mac OS 7.5 - 8.5; with at least SVGA resolution (800x600 by 256 colors); 64 RAM; 700 MB free hard disc space if full install is used. (Other newer Mac operating systems MAY properly run the PEP Archive 1v3, but compatibility has not been tested by PEP or NextPage (makers of Folio Views).

For your convenience, an icon for the PEP Archive 1v3 is automatically put on your desk top. All you need to do is double click on it and the PEP Archive will open.

If you have done a Full Install, you will NOT need to have your CD in the CD-ROM player and can simply double click on the desk top icon for PEP Archive 1v3.

If you have NOT done a Full Install, you will need to always have your CD disc in the CD-ROM player when you are running the PEP Archive 1v3 software.

Generate/check.gif      Insert the CD-ROM into the drive (if you did not do Full Install)

Hold down the shift key if autoplay has been enabled in order to stop the autoplay dialog. If the autoplay dialog box opens, then close it before proceeding.

Generate/check.gif      Move your cursor to the bottom of your screen to bring up the taskbar

Generate/check.gif      Click on the Start button Generate/STARTBTN.gif on the Windows taskbar

Generate/check.gif      From the Start menu, select "Programs" and then select "PEP Archive 1v3" from the menu that pops up.

Look for two menu options: one for this PEP-Help, and one for the PEP CD-ROM labelled PEP Archive Version 1v3.

Folio Views will now run and load the PEP Archive 1v3

NOTE:      You can get more screen space for the PEP Archive in Windows if you set the Taskbar to "autohide". To automatically hide the Taskbar when it is not needed, click on Start, select Settings, click on Taskbar, click on the Autohide box to place a check in it and then click OK.. To make it display again, move your cursor to the bottom of your screen and the Taskbar will pop up.
